Dark Fairy Tales for Adults
Sometimes it feels redundant to say “dark fairy tales.” Fairy tales are dark and messed up. Vicious, dangerous, bloody … despite their happily ever afters. But when it comes to retellings, it’s a vital distinction. I don’t want anyone who’s looking for cozy fairy tales to stumble into the dark abyss of my cruel-yet-beautiful fae fantasy world. They’re two very different tastes. I actually enjoy both kinds, as a reader, but I only write dark.
If you do like some darkness with your happily ever afters, you’re in the right place. (And welcome! I’m so glad to have you here!)
Right now my focus is on getting the word out about my books. I know they’ll find their way to readers eventually, but for now, it’s a slow process. I’ve been posting quotes and other graphics on Instagram, and I just recently started creating short video teasers for TikTok.
I made two videos that I’m particularly proud of, so I wanted to share them here.
My intent was to make teasers for the books that felt like bedtime stories. Innocent, but with a delicately disturbing vibe. “Dark Fairy Tales for Adults,” in other words. You can be the judge of whether I succeeded.
Here’s the teaser for the first book in my Dark Enchantments series, Fae of Ashes and Midnight.
(Depending on your browser, the video might not embed properly. You’ll have to click the static image to view it on TikTok. Sorry about that!)
And here’s the “bedtime story” teaser I made for the second book in my Dark Enchantments series, Fae of Roses and Exile.
Did you enjoy either of those? Let me know! Did they make you want to read the books?
You know I’ll give you the links again. 💜✨
Fae of Ashes and Midnight is available on Amazon in ebook, paperback, and kindle unlimited.
Fae of Roses and Exile releases June 21, 2024 and will also be available in ebook, paperback, and kindle unlimited.
Happy reading!
